well I love the mossberg 500/535

only problem is I find it slightly to long for me (I can reach and pump no problem, but cant hold the pump comfortably for extended periods of time)
is it possible to cut down the stocks of the 500/535 series and still be good to go warranty wise, would a gunsmith be willing to do this?

what about aftermarket stocks, or a youth stock?? does mossberg sell these?

was also reading about the knox stock recoil reducing stock how are these,im sure it would look kinda goofy for hunting, but if it works why not

anyways tips would be appreciated

thanks

Mike

Wood stocks can easily be cut. Can't see how that would effect warranty issues. Synthetic stocks are different as they are hollow and inletted for the pad. My old man shortened his and added a limbsaver pad. Apparently 3.5" turkey loads in the pump beat him up a lot worse then his semis. Personally I didn't like the knox stock. I went with ati 6 position stock with the drop spacer for my rifled barrel 535. Works great. Its alil weird at first with a bead sight as it sits high. Works well with my 500 tho

I cut down my plastic stock and reuse the same pad.had to grind it down for fit. Take the recoil pad off just to see how it shoulders,it'll give you a ideal of how much you'd like to shorten it. But don't fire it that way.lol

Some of those short stocks are too short, you'll have to squair up your stance to make them work.
