Hey guys, fairly new to the modern muzzleloader scene. But anyway I bought a brand new accura last week and there is no rifling in the barrel. That’s gotta be a mistake right?? I’ve never heard of a modern inline muzzle loader without rifling. Problem is I’m having a hard time believing that Bergara actually forgot to put it in. Seems about as likely as winning the lottery.

If the link doesn’t work and you don’t believe me I’m happy to send a photo to anyone who asks.

Some muzzleloaders lacked rifling at the muzzle to allow easier loading of the projectile. You aren't having to force the projectile into the rifling right of the bat and it helps align the projectile with the bore.

I own a CVA Wolf and CVA Firebolt and both have obvious rifling. Based on the one picture, there appears to be a problem with the rifle. Did you take the barrel off and look from both ends? The Accura is supposed to be super accurate so the rifling should (to me) be obvious.

Yea I’ve looked through both ends, I also looked at a friends optima for reference. Definitely no rifling. Pretty crazy they forgot.

Yea turns out it’s a big oops on CVA’s end. The dealer has ordered me a replacement but CVA doesn’t seem interested in saving face

Whats the bore size? Did they miss putting the rifling in or is it the grove diameter? Im assuming if they forgot it, its never been fired as it would be very hard to load the bullet into the barrel

I'd be keeping it, I garuntee nobody
Else has one, its what I'd call
A " misfit " I'm doubting they will
Will admit a manufacturing boo boo
How thick is barrel walls
I had a old thompson center hawken
Before, bore was rotted and guy reamed it
To a 28g shotgun, it was fun as hell
Shot ALOT of rabbits and grouse with it
