Does anyone on here have any experience with the cva paramount? I’m a quadriplegic so I hunt out of a blind, weight isn’t an issue. I have a cva mr but due to the lack of finger movement in my hands the trigger is a little stiff. I prefer 2.5 to 3 pounds for my hunting rifles and 1 for target guns. So the fact that it takes rem 700 triggers is extremely appealing. Do these live up to the hype? Also curious how those elr bullets perform on whitetail inside of 200 yards. Was looking at the pro model too but they don’t seem to be in Canada yet

I've had the non pro model for a couple of years now and it's been flawless. I used it last year and was able to make a 170 yard shot on a nice buck. Performance of the ELR worked fine for me as the buck piled up after 50 yards or so with a shot through the boiler room. I use 105gr by weight = 150gr by volume of Blackhorn 209 and have upgraded the ignition system to the Arrowhead Precision breech plug and primer capsules. The furthest I've tested it out to was 300 yards and would have no issues making a shot at that distance on a standing still whitetail. I run a Bushnell 3-12 HDMR optic with MRAD turrets. I really like the muzzleloader, but it is no lightweight and has it's place if longer shots are to be expected. If I'm hunting places with shorter ranges or in the wood, I usually carry my TC PRO Hunter. Just a side not, the recoil with full power 150gr by volume loads of Blackhorn will not be pleasant off a bench. You don't need to run yours at full power, mine seems to like it so I stuck with that load.

It makes it a lot easier to load the primers into the breech and seals tighter so there is less blow back with high volume loads. I never had an issue with the factory set up, but I read good reviews on the Arrowhead and thought it would be a good upgrade.
