Anyone using cva hunter or scout rifles in center fire? I love my cva muzzle loaders but I haven't got my hands on their other models. I think I'd like to
I have two CVA break actions... a 7mm-08 and a .35 Whelen... good solid guns... they usual go along as back-up guns (just in case).. I keep them broken down in TD cases when travelling... never had to use one on game.
Mine are both Apex rifles... same lever position as the Scout. I agree, I don't like the break lever position on the Hunter. The scope bases that come with the guns are from DuraSight and are excellent. As far as comparing to H&R... I would say that the metal work is much nicer on the CVA, as is the fit and finish, but I have had consistently better accuracy from H&R, which is not really a concern for me because I accurize every gun and the CVA's sharpen right up. I came close to buying a Scout in .44 RM... but went with a Ruger 77/44 instead.
