I recently purchased a non restricted beretta cx4 storm re chambered in .357 sig I am trying to establish what exactly was done to re chamber this unit , I was excited as soon as I read about the Rifle I admit i was ignorant to the fact this was not factory when I initially enquired about the unit .

I had visions of a mid range coyote slayer of the highest order ! I have still not had the pleasure of shooting her at paper or coyote's .

I am hoping that the community can aid me in load suggestion's and any information I should know as a new reloader and with my first calibre conversion rifle .
Thanks so much for any and all input

Converting a 40 S&W gun to 357 sig should only require a rebarrel, all the other parts are probably the same.

357 sig uses the same diameter bullets as 9x19, but most bullets designed for 9x19 won't work 357sig because the ogive is too long to fit in the short neck and still be under the max OAL for 357sig/40 S&W. You have to use bullets with a "stubby" nose, for lack of a better term. Flat nose bullets with a large meplat and hollow points seem to work well, but you're going to have to experiment with a few different bullets to see what will fit in your mags and work in your gun.

I can get 124 grain bullets up to ~1400 fps in a handgun, you can probably get some pretty decent velocities out of a 18.5" barrel. Hodgdon Longshot works well in 357 sig.

In actually if it was a 9mm gun.. they could have just reamed the chamber in 357 and changed the bolt to the 40 S&W verision.. changed to a 40 mag and badda bing badda boom...
