I was in Al Simmons yesterday talking to Paulette and she told me she had a call rom her Beretta rep telling her that any mags for the Storm which are stamped CX4 Storm on the mags are now prohibited.
He is going to replace any mags she has in store but there has been no word about replacing the mags that are already out there.
Has anyone else heard anything about this.

If your cx4 mags are marked "cx4" you're supposed to turn yourself in at the nearest police station....
If they're not marked you are free to roam the streets.

It's been out for a bit.. not sure of an exact link, but the jist of the situtaion was the handgun magazines are completely fine being 10 rounds cause the magazine was designed for a handgun (and the rulling on the 10 round mags was what the mag was DESIGNED to be used in)..the new mags (stamped cx4) are now designed specifically for the storm, and are illegal cause they hold more then 5 rounds..

it's a technicality.. just buy the "handgun" version of the mags and you are fine.

They are prohib. if not pinned to 5
Pin them to 5 like an AR mag and it's OK.

Sort of defeats the purpose of buying the Storm.:(
I returned the mags to Al Simmons and they are getting me replacement regular 92 mags from Stoeger.
I was there when she called Stoeger and they have 900 regular 92 mags on order so I should have no problem getting my 2 and since I have 4 regular mags I am still good to go.:D

Like I said before on this forum, we just need to get newly manufactured AR mags labeled Remington 7615P.

Since "obviously" its the mags that are the prohibitied item not the gun itself, as long as they are manufactured for the 7615P, a pump action gun, there should be no mag restriction, just because it "happens" to fit in an AR is moot because it was designed for a pumpaction rifle

Call Stoeger in Whitby- don't recall the phone # offhand- if you send them the Storm mags they will send you Beretta pistol mags in exchange you need to give them the serial # of your storm. this is a great example of an importer supporting its clients -don't forget to congratulate them!

Well, wait a minute here. The memo said that only the magazined marked CX4 are prohibited. I have two AR15 magazines. One is marked ".223 cal/5.56 mm" and the other one has no markings on it whatsoever. Does this mean that they may contain 30 rounds instead of 5?
I don't know if the CFC memo sets any bureaucratic precedent, but reading that memo makes it clear that the markings on the magazine itself specify whether it is a prohibited device or not.

I got my Storm last fall and the mags I have bought since have all been series 92 and not the Storm mags. I mean why pay an extra 20-25 bucks because someone etched CX4 Storm on a 92 mag. If the person at the CFC or where ever, who discovered this discrepancy has any more time on his/her hands, I have lots for them do around my place. Like picking up the dog crap in my yard. All it is, is a Logo for crying out loud. Bunch of F%#@(*g retards.

Somebody want to call the CFC and ask for "clarification" on Special Bulletin for Police No. 68?

"The classification of a firearm magazine depends on the type of firearm the magazine was designed to be used in, not the type of firearm it is actually used in. "

and

"Beretta is now producing a 10-cartridge magazine designed specifically for the CX4 Storm rifle. The law sets a maximum capacity of five cartridges for magazines designed for a semi-automatic, centre-fire long gun such as the Beretta CX4 Storm rifle. A 10-cartridge magazine with a CX4 Storm stamp on it is prohibited unless it has been permanently altered so that it cannot hold more than five cartridges. "

Inform CFC that you have a 30-round magazine designed for the PUMP ACTION CENTERFIRE RIFLE called the Remington 7615P and ask is this legal?

exactly i dont see why 7615p maked mag would be illegal to use in a ar15 the law is on the mag not the gun you use them into

7615 mags in principlal then if marked as such should be legal at 30 rounds.

That is what logic would dictate with the ruling with the CX4 mags.

Unfortunetly I dont think logic will be applied.
