I note we received a new shipment from of Hi-Power and 1911 parts from the good folks at Cylinder & Slide. I note it myself as received my new Hi-Power trigger and sear to go with my already installed No-Bite hammer and Extended Safety. :D All are absolute musts*. I'm probably preaching to the converted if you like Hi-Powers, but, some things are worth some preaching. If you want to love your Hi-Power again, have a close look at Cylinder & Slide.

Of course, excellent 1911 parts as well. I think we have 34 separate C&S listings in stock.

Glad to see handguns still being supported up, despite the current political climate. Dang I’d like a .40 cal Hi-Power again!

Thank-you. We are NOT going to stop supporting handguns. Not going to let the bastards get us down.

For people looking for handgun parts, if you're thinking Brownells, maybe give us a look. We are doing our best to expand out offerings and generally our price will be the same. We ship quick and have abilities on both sides of the border to support our customers. Most handgun parts ship without a license, but right now we are getting licenses for you anyway at no charge, just send us your DL and PAL and we take care of the rest. The CDN license being included with your shipments really sees easier passage through CBSA and they are good for 12 months and cover everything we can ship. It's taking about a month for the license to be issued, so hopefully the bloody strike at Canada Post will be over by the time your license is issued! From there on, we ship basically next day.

Dangertree,

You guys should consider bringing in the Fast Safety System for Hi-Power pistols (FSS v2.0) by BH Spring Solutions in the USA. This unique system gives you the ability to safely carry the Hi Power (and most variants) with the Hammer down on a Drop-Safe detent (like half-####) and the Safety engaged. When you place a round in the chamber, you push the Hammer Forward to the Drop-Safe Detent. This automatically engages the Safety. The pistol is now safe to carry Hammer Down on the Drop-Safe, with the Safety engaged. When you draw the pistol to fire, you deliberately disengage the safety. Pushing the Safety Lever down to "Fire" instantly moves the hammer to the Full-#### positon, ready to fire. There is no additional force required to disengage the Safety and place the Hammer in the Fire position. It is an excellent system, which has been incorporated into the South Korean Service Handgun DP-51, which is also marketed in the USA as the Lionheart Vulcan 9.
I have the FSS system installed in my Belgian Hi Power Mk iII and it is superb. It solves the requirement to carry "Cocked and Locked", giving you the option to carry Hammer down with the Safety On, yet still have the ability to immediately draw and fire your Hi Power. The system is foolproof - I have tested it extensively. It works exactly as described and is 100% reliable and foolproof. The FSS is without a doubt, the most worthwhile upgrade that I have ever seen performed to a Hi Power pistol. It is THAT good!

Give it a try - I think that you will be impressed!: https://bhspringsolutions.com/index.php/product/fast-safety-sfs-v2-0-essential-for-hi-power/

I have a Belgian "FN" Hi-Power in .40 with factory installed FSS...
I second that it is an amazing system.

The IPSC RO's are regularly taken aback when I "make ready" LOL

I carried a Hi-Power in the MPs and this system would've be wonderful back then.

Bartok5,

I have handled the FSS and agree. A good reminder. I will see to adding these to the catalog! Thank you for the suggestion!

Interesting, but what's wrong with condition 1?

Tisas owner here OP, and the safety is annoyingly shallow. In order to engage it, I have to use my off hand, and I'd love to be able to manipulate the gun a-la 1911.

How much fitting is required to install the extended safety, and how much of a pain in the as s is it to get it here?

Nothing wrong with Condition 1, but it makes some folks nervous having that Hammer cocked. Personally, because the issued Inglis' "Mk 1" Safety is such a fussy small affair, I was never confident in my ability to move the Safety from Safe to Fire under duress. I opted to carry my pistol with an empty chamber and trained until I was pretty proficient at chambering a round upon drawing, in the Israeli style. The FSS avoids all of the above in a very mechanically simple (and therefore reliable) yet ingenious way.

There should be no fitting required in swapping out your "Mk 1" Safety for a "Mk 3" Extended, Ambidextrous Safety, assuming that your Tisas Hi Power is Browning-compatible. It is a simple matter to swap the Left-side-only "Mk 1" Safety for a "Mk 3" version, half of which would be replaced by the Left Side Safety from the FSS kit, should you choose to go that route. Dangertree ought to be able to get you a Hi Power "Mk 3 Safety from Brownell's if C&S doesn't happen to stock them.

Here's a pic showing the Hammer forward with the Safety engaged. This is achieved by simply pushing the Hammer forward with the Thumb of the firing hand. Pushing down the Safety Lever automatically places the Hammer back in the full-charged position. There was no effect on the Trigger Press from the install of the FSS Kit that I could tell. Same light, crisp let-off thanks to removal of the Magazine Disconnect. This FSS-equipped FN Hi Power Mk III would be my ideal fighting handgun for concealed carry if we had that right in Canada. Otherwise, I'm a P226 with a Red Dot and Light kinda guy.

PS: those Extended Slide-Locking Levers are outstanding as well. Not fitting required. Brownells carrys them if C&S doesn't. The Skateboard Tape on the Front and Back-Straps is a cheap substitute for stippling and really locks the pistol in your grip. A cheap trick, so to speak.

Thank you Bartok, the Tisas is Browning compatible and I'm convinced can be made "better". While I steer clear of double action/single action handguns as I just don't trust them, if these changes are drop in's, I could easily reverse the upgrade if I don't like it...which is brilliant.

Googling for some vids on the topic and the OP's catalogue.
