CZ 22LR 5rd magazine opinions?

I have half a dozen CZ 5-round polymer mags I use in my CZ 452 and 455, and in all of them when using CCI ammo, the 5th round almost always fails to feed, tilting too high and the nose of the bullet jams into the barrel, missing the chamber. I have to get in there with a finger to pull the round backwards, and gently try to feed it into the chamber. The rounds will not slide in if loose on top of the mag like a centerfire round will.

The mags feed flawlessly with SK, Lapua, and Eley ammo, no problems. So there is something about the CCI ammo which causes the 5th round fail to feed. I only use the European ammo now in my CZ's

I bought two CZ 5-round metal mags. They won't feed any round at all because the factory did not cut the front feed slot for the top round to exit the mag - the nose of the bullet hits flat steel and cannot leave the mag. See photo below: Polymer mag on the left, steel mag on the right. I have been meaning to get the Dremel out and cut out a slot for the rounds to feed, but have not gotten to it yet.

So there can be issues with some mags, and some ammo.

All I shoot presently is CCI Std. Velocity. Perfect feeding in all three of my polymer mags.

Yeah, that's weird, first I've ever heard of that problem. Are you sure it's not something to do with your rifle? I guess you'd have to try those mags in someone else's rifle to confirm.

In one rifle that's off in some way, that would be the question. But it happens with both my 452 Lux and 455 Lux. Both Lux's, but the action and bolt are quite different between these two models, so its curious. I can't say if the ejector part and everything in the mag well and bottom of the bolt that strips off the round are the same between these two models? The exact same problem in two different CZ rifle models is what led me to the theory that its something about the CCI ammo, not the rifles or the mags. I have repeated the experiment with hundreds of rounds from different lots of CCI, (mini mags, standard, subsonic hollow points), and more often than not, the 5th round jams upwards in a fail to feed.

I bought the half dozen CZ mags in two or three separate purchases over a period of time, so its impossible to know if it was one manufacturing run, or different runs. It could be a spec was off in the factory when the mags were made. But the fact that the European ammo brands feed flawlessly makes me think it has to be something about the CCI brass, maybe the rim.

I recently bought two 10-round CZ polymer mags but have not used them yet, so I should give them a test.

I'll see if I can take the rifles to the range and take some photos or video to post here of the 5-rd mag CCI 5th round jam in the port.
