just thought i i would post this here since some people may be interested.
i just found out that there is a batch of CZ 452 American that arrived in Canada with beach wood stocks, or should I say 452 Australian.....

the story i was told is that CZ kept a contract with some Australian importers to keep producing 452 lux, varmint and the American model.
the importers had to order over a number of guns per order to keep the 452 in production.
several Canadian importers jumped on the opportunity and were added to the Australian contract list.

i was told these guns are not coming through the CZ USA channel and that there has not been a 452 in the US for several years while small production runs have been made for the Australian market.
looks like the 452 Australian furnishes a beech wood stock but other than that the rest of the gun is identical to the 452 that was brought from the U.S.
i was also told that they have disassembled all the 452 production tooling and that the 452 farewell model will mark the complete end of all 452 production.
Cheers

The 452 American with the beech stock seems to have been made originally for the Australian market. I bought one in 2014 and the box had "Australia" stamped on it.
These rifles are not identical with the CZ 452 American with a walnut stock. The beech-stocked model has a matte receiver and the bluing is not polished.

The 452 Americans with walnut stock -- indeed all 452's, and presumably 453's -- were ostensibly discontinued several years ago. Nevertheless, significant numbers of new 452 Americans have continued to find their way to the U.S. market over the last few years including this year. In Canada we have seen 452 Varmint and Lux models, as well as 453 Lux's, which have been less available or unavailable south of the border. The Canadian and Australian markets are getting a number of the "Farewell Edition" of the 452 American, while the U.S. has the "Grand Finale." These two models apparently differ somewhat in checkering, jewelling, trigger, and custom rings.

Whether in fact CZ will irrevocably end the production of the 452 models is not entirely clear, even though the company has indicated it will. Sales of these models continue to be very good, and many will argue that the 452 is a better rifle than the 455 that is to be its successor.

My sons love my 452 American walnut, so I bought 'em a beechwood sister rifle a while back from Frontier Firearms -- looks like there are still some left.

Is this '' New Old Stock? ''
Bought mine (since sold) 4 or 5 years ago and it is/was the Beechwood Stock.

My Previous 452's 22E Americans all where Walnut stocks and had the matte receiver and polished barrels and of course the stamped steel trigger, trigger guard and of course those slotted screws (again those parts matte finished ) .

I know that trigger guy who wears his pony tail on his chin has prompted the manufacturer to change those slotted screw heads to an Hex head screw all to no avail.
But, those are minor details, my concern was trying to figure out if I had 3/8's dovetail or where they 11mm dovetail.
So, it was some fiddeling around at the gun store fitting/buying rings each and every time.

Well, thats been my experience along with great fun shooting gophers and other stationary targets.
