I purchased what I was told might possibly be the last one in Canada in a store … or at least western Canada . I’m not so sure about that . I question if they truly only made 1000 because I know of gun stores in small towns that got 5 of them. It just seems like there’s gotta be more then 1000 out there . But either way .. they are a beautiful little rifle, and I have always wanted a 452, so I caved and snapped it up . Although the stock is not quite free floated and may need some work .. that is for another thread .
Anyways … Reason for the post is I am looking for scope and ring options to compliment the look of the gun. Never been a fan of the glossy scopes, but it might be the right choice for this particular gun. But I’m open to matte black scopes too .
Any other farewell edition owners care to show how they have theirs dressed up ? I probably want to keep scope power around 3x9 . It will see real world use from plinking to small game hunting . So looking for an optic that is practical and functional, while complimenting the classic look .
Thanks .

Congrats on your 452 Farewell. I love the 452s and the gloss bluing and other touches are lovely on the farewell edition. I tend to favour the Leupold 3-9 EFR scopes for a set / forget option b/c of their light weight and parallax adjustment. They also look well balanced size wise on many rimfires. The older vx-2's look nicer then the newer Freedom line, IMO. Gloss scopes... I haven't seen any new options in a while... everything seems to be matte these days. I use BKL rings mostly but Sportsmatch rings are also solid and Talley is another option that seem popular. I think the Talleys look nice but I dislike vertical split rings and find them fiddly to mount.

I put a Leupold gloss VX2 3-9X33 EFR on my 452 American with gloss Leupold 13mm Medium rings and can’t be more happy !

That looks awesome ! Just what I had in mind actually. I’ve never been a fan of gloss scopes, but on these 452’s it works , especially on the farewell edition with the extra fancy blueing.
I ended up getting impatient and ordering a set of warne rimfire rings to use a Nikon rimfire scope I already had. Both in matte, but it’ll do for now. I just want to get it out shooting.
But I am going to keep my eye out for the same gloss rings and scope you have. Stock is low or non existent for stuff everywhere it seems . So this will get my shooting for now .
Thanks for the reply .
