So I’ve been on the hunt for a good looking, accurate, and handy 22 rifle for hunting. I’ve been sort of on the lookout for a 452 American. In my search for the right American I came across the 452 Farewell Edition. I had my eye on another new in box American, but it wasn’t as nice as I was looking for so I decided to go with the 452 American Farewell. It is #874 of 1000. I mounted a 6X Leupold on it and got it sighted in today. I’m very happy with the accuracy especially considering I was using a 6X scope. The average for the one lot of SK Standard I tried was .710” at 50 meters (54 yards) for five 5 shot groups. I’m sure that with more shooting, different lot testing, and a different bullet I could improve on those groups. As far as hunting ammo goes, I plan on testing some CCI Mini Mag and some Eley High Velocity HP. Pictures are in the link below.

I got the euro version from Frontier last year or 2 years ago. They were great to deal with as well. Gun came with irons which is what I wanted and kept. Beauty to shoot, my son said it’s almost not fair how well it aims and shoots.
 
I bought the Grand Finale version. Looks like the same receiver and barrel as yours. I need to convince myself to shoot it.
 
Wow! That is a beautiful rifle. Congratulations. I have 3 CZ 452's and they are great rifles!

I bought one a couple of years ago,#635,and its the only firearm Ive ever owned that I havent shot. Rearranged my safe today and mounted some pistols on the door panel to free up space on the top shelf. Removed all the guns for a quick check and to put my muzzleloader away till next fall, and there it was sitting all lonely in the far back right corner protected on either side by sacrifice guns to take the kisses. Too bad a lot of guns today are made so ridiculously chaep with plastic and other s..t that should never be used in firearms production. Ill keep it unfired and pass it on too someone who probably doesnt deserve it HAHA. They are pretty
 
I've had two CZ 452 Farewell Edition rifles. They have excellent bluing, but the wood isn't always special, as the rifle below shows. I don't have them any longer, but like a lot of 452 Americans, they could shoot.



Here's a target shot with SK Standard Plus. Unfortunately, this grade of ammo can't be counted on to be consistent, as shown by the middle group of this target shot at 57 yards. Except for that one, the four better groups averaged in the low .3's.

Ur correct on all counts. I looked at quite a few and lucked out and found one with beatiful stock and all the srews were oriented the proper way so I grabbed it. Now Im thinking about shooting it after looking at your groups. Hard to resist the temptation now. I hope ur happy with yourself haha

An excellent point. Maybe just testing my willpower lol. I have owned it for approximately three years.
 
I have #641. My original plan was to keep it unfired but my curiosity got the better of me so it made a trip to the range with me. Turns out it loves CCI Mini mags. Have had it for 3 years and can't wait to take her for a drive to the range very soon.
 
I traded a Lithgow that I wasn't shooting for a ''Farewell'' that I
knew that I wouldn't shoot .
These CZ's won't appreciate any more than the $20 Canadian Mint coins
for sale on TV so you should shoot and enjoy them.

^=bingo. I used to see the merit in holding onto things for the next generation...but it doesn't take too many hiccups in life to realize that you have to squeeze every ounce of pleasure out of things sometimes. lol Like johNTO, I'd say give'r. I have a couple of 452s, but I got a chance to shoot one of these Farewell Editions this past fall. To my eye, perhaps the prettiest production gun in this price range and yes..it shoots well. (my buddy's rifle, I ran a few mags through)
