Anybody have one of these? If so are they worth the extra bucks?

They have the same 11mm dovetail as the American?

Thanks for any input.

I have one and its great. The stock is very different from the American, but it is usable with a scope. Well suited to snap shooting in the field.

I have a set of Brooks weaver addapters and Burris tall QR rings so that I can use either the scope or the irons. I upgraded the irons with a Brooks peep rear site. The Lux dovetail is 11mm, the American is 3/8ths inch.

I believe that the stock-to-barrel mounting is different too. The Lux uses a front barrel lug, not found on the American. No big deal, it just means that the Lux barrel is only free-floated from the front site forward.

Finally, the LUX uses European sling mounts, which are similar but not identical to American-style (Uncle Mikes) studs. My Harris bi-pod mounts just fine, but the thin schnabel (sp?) forestock benefits from the Harris rubber wedge for a good tight fit. Mounting a second stud on the Lux stock could be problematic, its pretty small and thin.

I have a lux, lots of people have complemented on it or asked me if I want to sell it. The only problem is that if you mount a scope you may require higher than desirable mounts so that the objective bell of the scope clears the permanent rear sights.
