CZ 452 scope question...

Hello there!
I just got myself a CZ 452 heavy barrel in .17 HMR.
I have on hand a Bushnell Elite 3200 that beg to be mounted on a rifle!
What is the best mounts for my 40mm objective? I got a pair of Weaver rings but they are not high enough.
My reticle is pretty heavy (Firefly), according to you .17 shooters, does this is a limitation or a p.i.t.a?
What you guys recommended?
Where to get those rings?
Did I have to find another scope?
May I have to put my Nightforce 3.5-15 56 to get the most of this gun/caliber? It would look like a freak!!!
Any inputs will be appreciated!

I got a 10X 40 mm obj bushnell 3200 on plane jane millet rings
If your not interested in millet check out eric brooks web page

just sve the $$$ and buy the brownells sear and spring I got the ebrooks trigger kit and lite trigger but still lots of creep

Well, if you get the Eric Brooks 3/8 to Weaver adaptors, you can use low scope mounts (I am using Leupold QRW's) and have a milimeter of clearance between the scope and the barrel. I am using an Elite 4200 6-24x40.

I use Lynx high rings because of the AO on my scope and the big bell on the ocular end. You can get Lynx at wholesale for $43 and there good steel rings-----Cowboy

I just found a cheepo set of bushnell aluminium...

I can't live with a rifle without sights, I'll continue to seek the best rings I can find.

Keep it coming, I found some more questions:
How often did you have to clean this small barrel?
What is the best ammo? Here I have Remington, CCI and Federal and they look identical...

Good luck with the alum rings. Tried them but they kept moving on me with the recoil. The ammo all comes out of the same plant so buy whats cheapest. The federal premium v-shok work good in my 452 american. I clean with a bore snake every couple 100 rnds. I wish someone would come out with a bulk box of 1000 rnds for about $60----Cowboy

Puke...

Well... I just finished to mount my 19.99$ Bushnell rings.

I gonna be sick, cheap screws, ultra soft aluminium alloy, poor fit on my dovetail.

Cheap Weaver rings are 200% more quality that the one I just mount.

The thick Firefly reticle won't be the ticket on that rifle I think.

But at least my scope is mounted and I can shoot the rifle if I have an occasion before I find the ideal scope/ring combo.

I'm waiting for your imput on a good scope/rings!

Since you mentioned the BEST rings for it, get a set of Talleys at http://www.talleyrings.com/. Nothing else even comes close. They run about $60, but then machined steel costs more than pot metal.

Just ordered 2 sets of Anschutz 11mm dovetail 1 inch rings $25 each set usd. Talk has it they are as good as you get for under $100 . I don't know that yet, hope they are.

I shot her for the first time yesterday and I LOOOOVE her!

Damn, this thing is accurate! I can't beleive how well this little caliber made his way to 100 meters with a 50M zero without drop!

Definately the Firefly reticle is not the best choice...

I ordered a set of Leupold steel rimfire rings, but they are too narrow and don't fit as I hoped...???

I'd just came fron the gunstore with some more ammo for this one!!!

Hi,

I'm using Burris Deluxe steel rings (high), and they work just fine. My scope only has a 32mm objective, but there should be lots of clearance for a 40mm.
