CZ 452 vs 455??

Have owned a 455. Was accurate but wasn't mind blowing...

My 452 after finding the ammo (eley match) and tuning the front barrel lug (playing with torque specs) it now shots .250 - .400 inch groups at 50 yards if I do my part.

Not to mention my 452 varmint has an amazing tiger striped stock.

I have one of each also, a 455 American and a 452 Varmint. The 452, other than a lighter trigger spring and a striker reshape, is bone stock. The 455 has pillars, epoxy bedding, lighter trigger, and finally a striker reshape. After all that, it does shoot better than original, but not as well as the 452.
Having said that, they ARE two different rifles, not apples to apples.
This target was shot on the same day, same ammo, same shooter at 50 yds. The top row is 452, bottom is 455. The 4th group with the 452 is all about me.. It's what happens when you get excited and forget how to shoot .. my bad. Both rifles throw a flyer on the first shot out of a cold barrel, those are seen in the first group shot with each rifle.
All that's keeping the 455 in my safe right now is a gorgeous tiger striped walnut stock. I doubt I'll ever sell it for that reason alone. It's a good shooter in its own right, but not in the same sense as the 452 Varmint.

Neither rifle has given me a lick of trouble, both function flawlessly and are well made. Anyone other than a paper punching accuracy junkie like me would be thrilled to have either one.
Great rifles for the money if you ask me.

This is almost identical to how my 452 vrs 455 went...

The 455 was nice and accurate but, nothing mind blowing.

The 452 (minus you're one group and the one fly'er in the other group) Is bang on how mine shoots.

seems to me CZ should build another gun just like the 452 Id buy one an I'm sure a lot of others would to. I'm not a fan of guns that have inter changeable barrels
Not too late to get one, I got my 452 Varmint new last summer, they're still making them as far as I know. Prairie Gun Traders had them for $599 I think, I got mine from a dealer in NS who ordered it for me from the distributor.

they do special runs from time to time, they sell so fast that someone in accounting should shake their fists at management, on the other side of the coin they might sell so fast because a smarter business man fears the masses that this is the last batch every time they hit the market

Maybe my 455 will be my first foray into bedding......bedding guns i mean, i have a daughter.

lol quote of the day

I've owned around 10 CZ rimfires in 452, 453, and 455 configurations, so I've had the chance to compare a bit. My 452 Varmint shot the best out of all of them, but I think it's more likely luck of the draw with getting an exceptional one.
I wouldn't sweat anything until you put some lead on paper and see how things are looking.

When I mentioned that they are different rifles in my previous post, the reference was to rifle type, rather than 452 vs 455. One is a heavy barreled rifle with a flat fore stock design that rides a bench rest better than a light barreled sporter with a rounded fore stock. The added mass of the Varmint also reduces the impact of inadvertent shooter inputs. Optic magnification plays a role too, though optic quality should be on par.
In a nutshell, the Varmint is an easier type of rifle to shoot well. It would be a more accurate (pun unneeded) comparison to pit a 455 Varmint against a 452 Varmint.
With that in mind, it's quite possible that my 455 American is every bit as accurate as my 452 Varmint, but I simply don't have the shooting ability to get that performance out of that particular rifle.
