cz 452

I have one in .17 hmr and will shoot a clover at 5o yds. I need to get a better scope before i start shotting at 100 yds. They are a nice gun you should like a lot.

My 452 varmint in .17 HMR is good for under an inch at 100 meters/110 yards when I do my part...which is rare. :) Looking at the Rifle Basix trigger for mine http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=25707/Product/CZ452_CUSTOM_RIFLE_TRIGGER ....I've been told it helps you get the most out of these guns.

On another note, my Savage .17 HMR seemed to prefer the 17 Grain V-Max ammunition, the CZ seems to shoot 17 and 20 grain well...which is nice. I like the 17 for small game, but my best group yet is with the 20. I keep buying 17 though. (I'm in denial)

You made a good choice. 5 shots in an inch at 100 is definitely possible. I've shot a few 30 shot groups in the 2-2.5 inch range with the majority of the rounds landing in the 1 inch bull. I usualy shoot Federal Champion 40 grain lead or American eagle 38 grain copper washed hollow points. Cheap and accurate. Easily one of my favorite rifles. Also have the Yodave trigger kit in it.

YoDave~does pull remain consistent shot-to-shot? Does this kit have a "lifespan" in the gun? Reason I ask...the person who suggested I get that Basix trigger for my 452 suggested that the springs only last so long when you do that mod, but admittedly, he was talking about a different kit from Eric Brooks...if I remember that correctly.

I have never heard of the springs wearing or the pull decreasing or increasing.
My 452 on a lyman digital gauge was within 2 ounces for 20 consecutive tests, average of the 20 was 5.7 ounces.
As for lifespan I have heard of no complaints of break down in 4 years, bymv

Great to hear about the 452s being accurate, and interesting about the trigger kit.

Last week I bought a 453 for my nephew, it will be a present for his 18th birthday this year. The 453 has a single set trigger. Will be interesting to see how it works.

Also, the 453 is no longer available, I probably got the last one. (Might be tough to give it as a gift.....)

My 452 american shoots an average of 1.2" @ 100 yards off a bipod with CCI blazer. I Could probably shrink the groups if I got a better scope (using a 2-7x) and a trigger kit.
My .17HMR is slightly more accurate.

I have to say, in my humble opinion, the CZ range of .22s are the best value for money on the market.!! Accurate and well made and with a trigger job, an absolute pleasure to shoot.
