Hi all,
Just wondering what you are all using for a bore guide in your CZ's?

Yodave is selling some on his site, which seems to be the only Canadian source I can find. Only problem is when I go to check out I see the pricing is in USD so with the conversion it works out to $75 Cdn for two Guides one in .22 and one in .17. I bought a Tipton universal bore guide for under $40Cdn including shipping that fits all my centerfire rifles. Are there any more economically priced bore Guides for the CZ's?
Thanks,
Fivehundred

I got one from yo dave a couple of years ago. It works fine but fits kind of loose in the action. I don't remember what I paid but $75 sounds high. Think "long term investment"; you will most likely end up with at least 2 or 3 CZs anyway.

I just bought a bore guide, single shot adapter and a shim kit from Loweys in Australia. Paid Jan 25th and I had them in my hands Feb 2nd. AUS dollar is almost par with ours, $18 shipping. The bore guide fits perfect in my 452 action, and the single shot mag fits great as well. I haven't messed with the shims yet.

I did order an extra bore guide and single shot mag and sent them to Prophet River to see if they may be interested in trying them and possibly stocking them in the future.

Just checked my invoice - here's the cost in AUS dollars, which is only pennies more than ours.

Brno/CZ .22 Cleaning Rod Guides $ 25.00
Brno/CZ single shot adapters $ 20.00
Brno/CZ Trigger shim & spring kit $ 20.00

I see he ( yodave ) has bore guides listed for $22.50 Canadian as I type this.
I can not hyper link his web site , because I am still learning this I- pad thingy.
Something must have been off when you checked it out.

The bore Guides show up as $22.50 and I added a .22 and a .17 to the cart, so $45 wouldn't be bad. Then there was $8 shipping which is fine, but when I hit check out it says $53USD, which it converts to $75 Cdn. Seems a bit pricey.

Ok fivehundredlimited, my bad for not going the extra mile you did.
I simply checked out the prices as posted and didnt follow through.
Have you sent Dave an email asking if there is something that can be done?
He is Canadian and local more or less.

Use this and be done with it works very well also gets a good rating from the cz nuts on rimfire central.
I use one and they ship to canada no problem. Real sweet. I have 22lr and 17hmr.

The patchworm or similar products work well. And shipping is quick and reasonable. On the other hand, considering how often a .22LR needs to be cleaned, which is to say not terribly often with a brush and nine out of ten times with a patch pulled through the bore, you might consider getting only one bore guide (which should really be called a cleaning rod guide) in .22LR, and use it cautiously with your CZ .17HMR as well.

Does your bore guide lock in position?
I have to pull the trigger in order for mine to go in but it comes out without any further manipulation.

The trigger kit is similar to the YoDave . . . 5 cylinders and 4 springs?
What were the results?

Does the single shot adapter eject spent casings?
I got mine from the states and the spent casings just sit in the action area unless they eject with a sharp pull on the bolt.
The spring in the magazines facilitate ejection and a magazine is as good as the SS Adapter.
I am not seeing any scrapes on the bullets using a magazine.

Mags and adapters don't have any effect on case ejecting. The case ejector and bolt guide is where the mag enters and is held in place with two screws. The case is ejected by the bolt drawn back and a small tab on the ejector contacts the bottom of the case and is then ejected out the top of the action. Pulling the bolt back as you describe is normal on a cz.The case doesn't lie on the top of the mag but is held in place against the bolt face by the two case extractors, until the bolt is removed all the way back. I hope this helps.

The bore guide does lock into place - it is sturdy. I haven't used the springs or shims just yet, my UL has a 3lbs trigger and no creep but when it loosened up a bit I will then try different shims. I haven't tried the single shot adapter yet, I will try to get to the range today.
