My CZ 557 Ann. is a 19mm, but check with these guys, they reply right away : https://cz-usa.com/support/contact/Would anyone happen to know the thread size on the muzzle of a CZ455 ?
I have a very dusty short barrel (16½") version missing the thread protector.

Being a European gun I thought it might be a metric size.
I'd just like to be sure before I start searching for one to buy.
You are correct. If the barrel is marked C-ZUB (like my varmint rifle) it will have the European 1/2-20 thread; if it is marked CZ-USA it will be 1/2-28, this is the North American Standard. Accessories in 1/2-20 are not easy to find; but the thread protector should be. BTW, mine is also stamped with the tread size. Not sure if this affects the 455, but my 457 Varmint has a 1/2-20 thread, which is apparently unique to models sold in Canada despite the CZ site saying it should be 1/2-28.
Yup, I screen shotted the item I'll need if it's a ½-20 not ½-28I got a Euro size protector from Nordic

Ha I should have actually checked more closely for the stamp.... mine definitely has it. I ended up finding out the hard way when I ordered a 1/2-28 accessory and it didn't fit!You are correct. Chock it up to lessons learned. A year ago I would have thought Metric and Imperial; who knew. I wanted to put a CZ muzzle break/compensator. I hunted for months until a very kind member gave me a lead to a dealer out west. It really makes the gun look finished. There are those that claim it stripps turbulient gas away from the bullet at the muzzle; I don't know about that, but there were zero negative effects, and it looks good.Ha I should have actually checked more closely for the stamp.... mine definitely has it.
