I am new in the 22lr realm, coming from IPSC, CAS and black powder shooting.
Hence my frensy to accumulate the most informations possible about rimfire shooting and my CZ-457 in particular.
I bought a CZ-457 At-One....great rifle.
I then saw an add for a beautiful Canadian Edition stock at Tesro (+1 for them for comm's and courtesy) bought it and installed the varmint barrel of the At-One.
I have read so many threads about it on the web ....yes....no.....that I decide to plunge.
Results on a thread down below.
Now, I learned the hard way that the correct size of the Torx screws is T-25 and NOT T-20....especially when torquing.
So, I bought a single Torx T-25 bit at Canadian Tire and began a quest for action screws in the US....no shipping in Canada....or at an insane shipping fee.
Out of solutions, I went yesterday to Reno Dépôt....about nothing in the metric bins.
Then, this afternoon, I punch "metric screws"
And there is a Canadian company Canada Bolts <service@canadabolts.ca> that sells stainless screws by the unit.
I ordered 6 stainless screws, size M-8 , length 40mm (exact rear screw size) and 35mm (to cut down to 32mm, front size) Allen key head.
6 stainless screws, shipping, taxes for $15.50.

ERRATUM :

The correct size of the screws is M-5 and NOT M-8.
There was only one M-5 in a M-8 bin and I had to grab it to measure with a correct size nut.

Sorry.

And if you're just looking for OEM replacements, wolverine supplies has stock of the front and rear action screws. They are the Canadian warranty center for CZ, and I've order some spare parts from them before (extractors, magazine wells etc.). Just be prepared to wait a good while if something is not in stock... CZ parts shipments are not frequent.

Hi Bart....

Thanks for the info.

Wolverine : $23.90 + taxes + shipping for 1 set of screws.

Canada Bolts : $11,88 , all in, for 3 sets of stainless screws, hexagonal heads , received the day after.

Hard to beat.

The hex heads will be much better since I will swap stocks once in a while; also for torquing, although I got the proper Torx 25 bit.

DANRR - You might run into issues with those hex heads - they will "round out", or your driver will "round off" - sometimes can "cheat" and drive a snug fitting TORX tip into the hex head socket - sometimes that will not work out. Best suggestion is to get / use a snug fitting hex tip for the hex head bolts - they WILL strip out, if you get sloppy with them.

Sort of an aside - M5 bolts might come with more than one thread pitch - the tap I have here is M5-0.9 - might be other different ones. An M5-0.8 (0.7) or M5 - 1.0 (1.1) will not turn in without effort - either the tapped hole or the bolt will need it's thread altered, and then will not be near as strong for holding power as the correct one. Is also typical that the bolt might have different heads - same threads - so likely can get slotted, hex, Torx or hexagonal bolt in "M5" size. Is/was not terribly unusual that a maker will use non-standard or proprietary thread to make their things - requires you to go back to original maker for parts, instead of finding correct stuff at hardware store. Not to consider that most all is made in metric dimensions as well as in Imperial dimensions - some are "close" to each other, but not "exact". That goes for thread pitch and bolt diameter, besides the head configuration.

Yeah not cheap but just wanted to point out that the OEM replacements are available if people want the ones straight from CZ... some people are more comfortable going that route even with the cost difference.

I've used Canada bolts for projects where I need only a few of a particular fastener and not a whole box. They have a good selection so I'm glad those are working for ya!

Right barthammer.....thanks.

I'm the one too that always want the real thing.
I had two screws on the At-One stock that were not OEM.
I wrote Boyd's and they sent me the screws free of charge.
The only reason why I went with Canada Bolt route was the ease of swapping and torquing of the hex head of the screws for I want to swap stocks once in a while.
I ordered a 3mm screw driver bit....$1,79 and $9.50 shipping.
