Hey - relatively new shooter here looking to get my first 457. I really like the looks of the Canadian edition but from what I can find it was a "limited edition" and is out of stock everywhere online.

Was it a one-time only thing? Or does CZ manufacture more occasionally?

Hey thanks for the response.
Not sure I follow tho - you think that the Canadian 22LR's will show up in stock again this fall?

nope
there will be a lot or at least some USED or new in box available at dealers and this site in the late summer or fall

folks will come to the realization they could not sell at a profit for buying one early in the release and wish to sell them as they failed at scalping

and some lightly or gently or heavy use ones will show up as a lot of us rimfire guys buy and sell after trying

so

NO NEW ONES WILL BE RELEASED

but many will be on the market to be purchased as folks change their mind or cycle through rifles

hope that helps

lol how did you know :D

I've checked out EE and seems like it might be a great resource so I'll apply to get in there. thanks again for the info

Here's an idea; buy one in the less expensive composite stock; then buy a "457 Canadian" stock for it from a guy who puts his rifle in a chassis. That way you get shooting now.

I'm curious what's going on with CZ 457's (especially in 22LR) in general.

I know the Canadian is a special edition, so stock was always going to be limited. However I bookmarked a bunch of shop pages for the Lux last month in preparation for picking one up when my PAL arrives, and I just went back and looked at them and almost everywhere is out of stock. Those that have them are almost $100 more expensive than anywhere else.

North Sylva is showing both 17HMR (#838348006091) and 22WMR (#838348006299) in stock.

sorry I should have specified, I'm looking for the .22LR in particular. There's definitely quite a few of the 17HMR and 22WMR's kicking around online still, but none of the LR's.
Grundland does actually list one though so I'll ring them in the morning! Thanks for pointing that out, hadn't heard of them yet.

Yup if your looking for a LUX expect to pay upwards of $1,000 like everything they continue to go UP, edit I just happened to be looking for something else and saw that P & D in Edmonton shows a LUX in stock for $899

I just scooped one at Prairie Gun Traders in Avonlea on June 3. I was busy this Spring rolling crop so I phoned down and asked that they hold it. Very nice looking rifle. I put a small Leupold on it and sighted it in last night. It will get a good workout this summer in gopher defence.
