I feel the current 457 XRS combo, $1150 from Tenda, is a good price compared to buying everything separately

Thought I’d give this thread a bump. One of our club members is going to have nrl22 shoots in town so I impulse bought one with a 20” barrel the other day. It’s shocking what the price is now compared to October last year.

With the price of 17 HMR shells I caved and also just picked up a 457 Varmint Synthetic 2 weeks ago. $869 for it, $120 more then last year when I debated one. Slapped a MDT 20 moa rail and a spare Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 I had sitting here on it and went out playing.

I was just holding over, and after 3 shots and learning where I had to aim, we (myself and buddy) were slapping a 6" gong at 200 yards on repeat all day today with the cheap Winchester 333 bulk ammo. The odd miss, and a glance at the chrono explained everything but still non the less it's fun!

At 50 yards it really liked the CCI Mini Mag Varmints and the Winchester 36gr bulk "white box".

At 100 yards it printed a 1.8" group with the CCI's .......I ran out of the 333 bulk pack before I could try them at 100.

Needless to say I think a new addiction to 22 rimfire has started, and all cause the price of 17 HMR ammo has gone up so much......
