I scooped one today in .17hmr. I was so happy with my 457 American 17 this summer. It has zoomed to the top of my favourites list. The instore gunsmith took the rear sight off for me, as I will be putting on one of the little Leupold scopes on. I also bought a set of Warne rings.

I might have to thin my herd of 455’s, but you guys know how that works.

That is one nice looking stock on the premium! I've been looking at the different model 457s for a few weeks now. What do you like most about the premium? Have you compared it to other models?

Hard to say what I like most, just that I do like the 457's. I have three, now four, plus a 457 LUX .17 hmr that came with an ammo deal. As far as I can see the only difference between the LUX and the Premium is that Premium has "457 Premium" on the forestock checkering. I haven't actually put the two side by side yet. I mounted a nice old Leupold Vari-X 3-9 on the Premium and will need to clean the barrel and sight it in. It will be a gopher gun.

I was at Bashaw gun shop last year and a young fellow had just bought a Premium .22. Oh boy! Was it ever a nice rifle! That's what sold me. I bought the .17 there this year.

I have the two together now. The stocks are different. The Lux has a "European" style stock. Premium has schnabel forestock, threaded muzzle, different engraving patterns, dull finish on stock, different front sight and hood. silver coloured trigger.
