I have a cz457 stainless on the way and was wondering what rail would be a good one for small game hunting at ranges of about 50 yards, give or take. I have a vortex diamondback HP 2-8x32 I plan on mounting onto it, so would also appreciate any suggestions on what hight rings would be best suited. Thank you!

MDT rail, 0 or 20 MOA. Going to 50, you won't need it to have can't in it, but with 20, you'll be able to have a bit more fun at the range with longer distance, and it's the same price as well.

As for rings, you should be able to get away with low with no issues with a 32mm end bell. I like the Burris Z rings for that type of set up.

I have a SS 455 Lux and have a Covenant-4 6-24x50 FFP mounted on a CZ0-MOA rail with Vortex Pro LOW rings. Even with the 50mm bell there's plenty of room.CZ 455 Lux SS 21-22 right.jpg

If you are shooting 50m that's a 'pea shoot', 100, 150 maybe 200m you shouldn't need one... I just searched, and that scope has 110MOA, but depending on your zero you should be able to dial out past 150. I wouldn't get a 'duplex' reticle, (basic crosshair) at least get something with a 'holdover', BDC is a 'start' to understand, but I can't say I would want that either. Get a real MIL/MOA reticle scope, its a 'standardized tape measure' that you can do real measurements with.

Wait till you find out that after you zero at 50m with a certain ammo at a certain temp it will ALL change with even just the temp let alone a different box (lot#) of the exact same ammo! Welcome to rimfire!
