It's been awhile since I treated myself to a new firearm but it doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to pass on this one...unfortunately it doesn't appear this one will be hitting the shelves in Canada and I'll have to import it. :( I was considering a Tikka T1X in an MDT chassis until I saw this and although I love Tikkas, I am not a fan of the huge magwell's appearance...and it seems like it might be a pita to change mags.

Since the 457 came out I've been saying they should offer it without a stock. Makes no sense that to get a proper heavy barrel target 457 you have to buy a fancy hunk of wood and then immediately throw that wood away.

Pricing in Canada is $1700.
Personally I would rather have a T1x in a MDT ACC chassis for that same price for some reasons including:
- ARCA front end is better than MLOK front end
- ACC stock is slightly better than Luth MBA.

And as a closer comparison feature for feature, the MDT LSS-RF is very comparable, and costs a lot less than this factory 457 chassis.
 
Take a look at what area 419 has to offer on their website,
They offer the 457 with a choice of stock/chassis options including manners, MPA and MDT.
Not to mention they come complete with some of the greatest area 419 parts such as picitanny rail, arcaloc rail, bolt handle, etc.
They even give barrel Choices from bartline and proof.
These are excellent looking completely ready to go packages.

Not sure why they bothered with this option.

You can CHOOSE what MDT chassis you want, and get the exact same thing for the same price. I'd put an ACC on it, and not that thing which I find personally really ugly, chassis wise.

At the price of $1700 I'd say build your own with a MDT chassis system AND plenty of options to customize to your liking . Bought my 457 MTR on sale which was a big saving but bought my MDT at regular price. I should have waited for MDT's annual Black Friday sale... huge savings so I bought the same chassis system for my Remington M700 .308
