CZ 505 Gibbs No to NA

I just had my dealer phone about the SC 550 Safari mag in 460 Rigby or 505 Gibbs bad news to me not comming to Canada or the U.S.A, this sucks.
I was told by the dealer that if you want one you would have to buy a CZ mag action or comp to it and build it, This is a huge job due to the bolt work.
Why do we always get shafted?
 
I'v`e seen th`em adv`ertised for sale, in stock, at shops in the US. Prices were ~US$2000

There are other actions you can use, such as the P14!
 
Your dealer is misinformed. The CZ's in 450 Rigby, 404 Jeffery and 505 Gibbs are made in the USA for the US market by CZ-USA with no plans for export to Canada. I have bought one in US and am just waiting for all the import/export paperwork to get finished.
 
Was yours rebarreld and reamed to that action?
I have heard of this as well. I am refering to a factory built gun, not sure if there doing this in the factorys, Canuck32 do you have any contact info?

But this is good news.
 
No its not a rebarreled gun. What is happening is CZ-USA is getting actions and select stocks from CZ parent then doing the custom work of new barrel (not re- bored), bolt face, Magazine, etc. They are calling it a Safari Classic SC550 and comes with full factory warranty. FWIW. As for contact info its hit and miss for finding one. Mine is from a dealer in Anchorage and he didn't even have any ammo for it.

Thanks alot I was on the phone about 20 min ago with my gun shop that informed me that this is the case However the US dealer he was dealing with would not ship it to Canada, Thanks for the up and up on the deal I will keep digging!

Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply imports CZ rifles. Rick keeps trying to get me to buy a 505 from him. Give him a shout (don't expect a reply until he's back from the SHOT show) and ask him about it.
 
Bevan King is making me a .50 barrel right now and another for a friend, he has reamers too, I would call him if I wanted a .50 anything and see what he can do. My buddy has a .500 Whisper reamer coming for these two barrels. .510" bullets are a lot more common to and a .505 reamer would work with a .510" bore. Just a thought.
