The Czechs MADE them to fire the same hot 7.62 Tok ammo that came out of the Ppsh smgs, and the action is certainly stout enough to handle it; the only problems I've heard of happening with these pistols are 1) prone to breaking firing-pins, and 2) the chance of the pistol firing if the hammer-drop safety lever crystalizes or shatters.
Only the Czech had hotter loadings for theit CZ 52 and their
Model 24 and 26 SMG's. (20% higher.. plus)
Sweden also supplied "high velocity ammo (armor piercing type with heavy jacket) in 9 mm cal.
but only for their m/45 Sub-gun and ammo was called 39B and was forbidden to be
used in their pistols.
It was reported to be able to penetrate steel helmets at 400 Meters. (Government sources)
The Russian PPSH 41 and PPS 43 had standard loadings in 7.62x25.
and also used in their Tokarev.
Beware of the refinished, i.e. re-blued versions of the CZ 52,
as they break too often . See pictures of breakages somewhere on this forum
I put them there for everyone to see.
The parkerized ones must have been very little used, as none of them ever broke anything. Go figure ........
