I recently picked up a CZ 52 on trade. Nice little unit, interesting action with the roller lock delayed blow back, and the take down is a dream. My only question, I've heard some say that you need to be carefull what you feed them, that some of the surpluss 7.62X25 is too hot for saftey. Anyone know if the marsstar stuff is allright to feed 'em?

The Czechs MADE them to fire the same hot 7.62 Tok ammo that came out of the Ppsh smgs, and the action is certainly stout enough to handle it; the only problems I've heard of happening with these pistols are 1) prone to breaking firing-pins, and 2) the chance of the pistol firing if the hammer-drop safety lever crystalizes or shatters.

I've shot the marstar stuff through mine without issue. I found the primers to be hard though and had several fails to fire. Perhaps 1 or 2 per mag....had to recock the hammer manually and it would then go bang.

SDC is right. You can get a new firing pin, made from hardened steel, out of the states as well as better grips. As for the safety, I treat it the same as any other; I don't trust it at all. Test yours to see if it works but keep in mind that safe isn't always safe.

Only the Czech had hotter loadings for theit CZ 52 and their
Model 24 and 26 SMG's. (20% higher.. plus)
Sweden also supplied "high velocity ammo (armor piercing type with heavy jacket) in 9 mm cal.
but only for their m/45 Sub-gun and ammo was called 39B and was forbidden to be
used in their pistols.
It was reported to be able to penetrate steel helmets at 400 Meters. (Government sources)

The Russian PPSH 41 and PPS 43 had standard loadings in 7.62x25.
and also used in their Tokarev.
Beware of the refinished, i.e. re-blued versions of the CZ 52,
as they break too often . See pictures of breakages somewhere on this forum
I put them there for everyone to see.
The parkerized ones must have been very little used, as none of them ever broke anything. Go figure ........

You should not even fire it but put it in a box and send it to me. Be diggered if I can find a 52.

You can have mine. It's a parkerized one and has not failed me after
800 rounds of former Century Intl. supplied ammo.
I only get 3-4" groups at 10 Meters but the trigger pull does
not help either.

I don't know what they are worth now.
A tempting offer never hurts.
