CZ 527 in 7.62x39

I have one. It is a great little rifle. points really easy, and light. Recoil pad is great. I shoot the czech surplus out of it. Clean the gun right after you're done shooting... Lots of boiling water down the barrel...

I personally don't shoot the MilSurp crap ammo out of my guns... Is reloading an option for you? Do you have a friend who reloads? If it was a Baikal single shot, I would say who cares, but the 527 is a nice gun... You wouldn't eat at McDonald's EVERY meal, and neither should your gun.

I have one, as a matter of fact I am preparing right now to go hunting with it! Some have tight chambers and some ammo with coating or lacquer are a little sticky or tight.

I use Remington or winchester ammo no problems. Hormady with steel cases are tight and harder to chamber . All those ammo are accurate in my gun.

I have not shot surplus corrosives in mine.

Do you do anything special with the bolt after shooting corrosive surplus ammo?

Thanks

I clean the gun with wipe out, so the barrel gets filled with the foaming cleaner, then I close the bolt. I'm sure that the wipe out gets onto the surface of the bolt too. I scrubbed it gently with a toothbrush after the wipe out... And I cleaned the bore till the patches came out spotless with my otis pull through kit. Gets a lot more crap out than push rod ever thought they did...
I tested it...

The CZ has a .311 bore and mine just loved Igman and Prvi soft point ammo. I now have a Savage Scout that handles both .311 and .308 ammo with no difference in accuracy. I found the Savage had more options in regards to sight set ups. It is not as light, handy or pretty as the CZ but it is a better hunting rifle in my opinion.

I have one I bought for wife, she loves it. Threw on a cheap scope and she plinks decent groups at 100 yards with Barnule non corrosive. It's a nice well made gun so I don't want to shoot corrosive. Don't shoot enuff to worry about cost... $7 for 20 isn't expensive.

! had one but never shot military stuff through it. It has a .310 bore so the .310 bullets made by hornady and remington shot well but were very explosive. for hunting I used the.311 dis 125 gr game kings. the punched right thru but I had about a 20 yd track on one and about 50 yds on the other. I am a nosler fan and am spoiled by finding the animals dropping in their tracks. I would rate them just adequate for deer.
