I am looking at having a .300 Whisper built. I need a rifle in .222 or .223 to start with, and the CZ 527s come to mind.

Given their relative "newness," are people seeing any of them around at gun shows etc? What kind of prices, used, are you seeing?

Opinions on accuracy and quality would also be appreciated. I understand they are very good indeed, but have never seen nor handled one.

Thanks for any advice.

Ihave a .204 ruger in the 527, heavy bbl. It is a fine rifle, the "mini" mauser action is smooth.... The only problem i have is that if you put 5 rounds in the mag, there is so much spring pressure you really have to rack the bolt to feed the cartridge. With hand loads I am getting .150-.190 3 shot groups.

I would say its a bargain at 750 bones or so,.

I just bought a CZ527 Varmint/Kevlar with the HS Precision stock... Haven't finished the barrel break-in yet but it is looking good so far! I paid about $2000 for mine, including Shirstone 6-24 mildot scope, Leupold rings, bipod, bullets & powders to try, etc... A very fair deal, to my mind!

I have a 527 in 7.62x39. It handles like a dream. I liked it so much, last hunting season I carried it more (and shot more game with it) than any of the "serious" hunting rifles I own.
The trigger is wonderful, and it is very accurate, even with cheap ammo.
