Hey all, I had been interested in one of these rifles for years(in x39) so I picked one up in January, wish I would have got one years ago before they were discontinued.

Anyways, I love the Carbine 7.62x39, am I correct in assuming they also made carbine 223 with the 18.5' barrel? The internet says yes, but I can't find a single picture of one on the boards here or someone talking about them. Does anyone have one here? I'd love to find one one day.

I did extensive reading on the 527 after I got it. Learned all about the cracking stocks, action screws coming loose, and binding bolts, luckily for my my action is as smooth as butter. It's and older model with the fixed vertical rear sight.
I pillar bedded both the front and rear screws and took a tiny bit of relief around the tang. It has been fired before I got it and never had an issue so Im sure I would have been fine anyways.
I also hated the gloss stock, it's not the nicest wood anyways so I decided to strip it and oil it without any lacquer or gloss finish. I'm much happier with it now. I'll post some photos in a few minutes here

Yup they made the carbine versions in 223 (and 7.62x39) with wood and synthetic stocks
I wanted to get the carbine one but all I could get was the full size lux one, it’s still a real nice rifle just not as handy as the shorter one

Yes, back when they still made the 527 Tenda, FOC, and other retailers had them for sale but they sold out quick
I’m still kicking myself for not getting one

Sako AI 17rem
CZ 527 carbine 223rem, looks identical to the 762soviet version to my eyes
Howa mini, 223, Jefferson bottom metal for 527 mags

I only have the cz left but am planning on picking up a sako ai in 223rem

Top was x39 and bottom .223. The x39 was easy to source but not so much the .223. Someone responded to a WTB add i had up for one and I got it for a decent price. I ended up selling them both off a year or two later to fund rifles for myself and my then girlfriend. Probably shouldn't have done that but its too late to cry over it now.20180516_005617.jpg

I have one. Neat little rifles, I really need to find an excuse to use it more.

It's identical to it's 7.62 big brother, except the magazine is shallower, as can be seen in the pics from the post above.

Glad to know there is some floating around up here, hope isn't lost, definitely don't come around as often as their x39 counterpart that's for sure.
