Does anyone know of or if any dealers in Canada can get the CZ 550 Lux, I prefer the European style like this:

I'd be looking for this in 6.5x55.

Alberta preferred, but I will order from anyone who has it.

I was also curious about CZ dealers in Canada. On CZ's site, if you go the the "Where to buy" section and click Canada, they only have one dealers listed.

London Arms
Phone: 416-675-1322
Fax: 416-675-4567

Im assuming they're in London Ontario...

If at all, I'm sick of "We will call you when we know" and never hearing back.

It's seriously a mystery how most gun shops stay open their customer service is so pathetic. Sorry for the hijack.

Wholesale sports have a decent selection of CZ's is stock but they currently don't have 6.5x55 according to their wed site; Note: they are a brutal company for special orders and customer service.

"...assuming they're in London Ontario..." Nope. 416 area code is TO. Etobicoke to be exact. Pragotrade. 90 Claireport Crescent, Etobicoke, ON. That's near Hwys 427 and 407.
Epp's is a CZ dealer. If their supplier(very likely to be Pragotrade) has one, Epps(or any CZ dealer) can get it.

Might be? worthwhile checking Gunsnthings. They're in Alberta and they are advertising a CZ527 Lux for $729.00 (taxes included) + shipping.

If you contact then, I would think that they could get you a CZ550 Lux as fast as anyone. Just a thought.

Thanks guys,

I was actually working in Bashaw today and popped in to Bashaw gun store. He said he could order it up for me not a problem, price was right bang on with CZ's website, so I'm going that route.

Hi

I have the same rifle, only in the full stock version. Cost a couple of months back was just under $600 US. It's a very nice rifle, it shoulders well and the 6.5 Swede shoots quite accurately out of it. The action isn't quite up to 1899 Obendorf standards, but it's still a nice rifle.

Hi

I love the look of the full stock. It's just a personal thing.

The disadvantages are: greater weight, longer time for the barrel to cool, and more difficulty free floating the barrel.

On the plus side, the weight is where you want it to steady things, the barrel can be free floated, and it looks so darn good ....

Did I mention how it looks :D :D :D

I just bought a CZ452 leftie from Reliable Gun in Vancouver about a month ago and only had to wait about a week for it. Looking at a CZ American in leftie 223 but have not ordered yet. CZ527. Tossup right now between that and the Tikka T3 light also available in left.

Hi

At the show last week I came across an old Mannlicher / Schonher rifle in 6.5 M-S. I looked at it and then went on to check out the rest of the show. When I got back to it, the guy was selling it to somebody else.

The good news is that I'm not out $1300. The bad news is that they aren't getting any cheaper ...

Just spent a bunch of time on the web checking to see what is available and comparing US prices to Cdn. Pretty much all of the brands I checked are almost to the dollar for US pricing except the CZ. Price on a CZ527 leftie 223 in the US is a tad over $600. Up here everywhere I checked the price for the same rifle is $1000. Awful big difference. Puts them more expensive than a Remmie 700 CDL and Browning A Bolt Medallion. They are both over $100 less in Canada. The Tikka T3 is looking real good at this time much as I like the CZ. Or maybe I will just keep my Ruger No 1 223... Hmmm....Why such a big difference on one brand? Got the model numbers crossed too. Thoughts? Mebbe I will wait till the
Kamloops show and see what I come up with. Did pretty good at the last one.

Hi

How are the rest of the CZ's priced up there? Is it just an issue on the left hand version?

Down here you can find an amazing price spread on CZ rifles and pistols. What you see at $400 today in one place may be $600 the next place you see it. Next time it comes up, they are back to $400.

My understanding is that CZ runs some pretty steep discounts to the dealers when they want to move product. If you one off order when there's no push on, the price from them will be high.

CZ USA lists "suggested list" of $660 US and on the Wholesale Sports site in Alberta a CZ527 American is $869 and that is likely the best price available up here. Sure wish I could buy from the US. With the CDN dollar pretty much at par you have to wonder what is up. Even checked my Ruger No 1 and the price up here is bang on US price in Cdn dollars. Smells funny to me. Think there is only one importer too so small orders are not the problem. Leftie in the same cal same rifle is $999.95. I have sent an email to the distributor to get his "spin" but not holding my breath. Unlike in the US we usually only have 1 or 2 importers and they toe the same line.

Hi

Things are a little *different* down here with CZ.

As best I can figure it out, CZ-USA sells direct to stocking dealers down here. The also go through distribution. The good prices I have seen have been from the little shops that happen to be on a stock plan. I typically have to drive a couple hours to get to one of them.
