Does anyone know where I can find a CZ 550 in .416 Rigby? I want a new one, but am not having a lot of luck finding anything. I would appreciate any leads.

Death-junky,
Thanks, but I already did. Calgary and Edmonton have 2 ordered apiece, Saskatoon is on the list for one, for me. What I'm looking for is someplace that has one now. With the amount of members here, perhaps someone has seen one on a shelf somewhere.

Martinbns,
The next trip is tentatively booked for July 9, in Zimbabwe. Buffalo is the main attraction. The .375 will be going as a spare, and plains game plinker. Although I won't be hunting elephant, we will be amoungst them. The idea of a matched set of thumpers seems fitting, and practical. Well, maybe not practical.

IntelGDR691,
You're right, I called London Arms earlier today. The right person to talk to wasn't going to be there until Monday. Hopefully they can tell me one can be found. In the meantime I'm going into gun buying withdrawal. I've been straight for about 2 months.

2 MONTHS,,,,, My god, get the man to a doctor. I think we could get a 12 step program going here.
Will someone get this man a 416 rigby in s CZ 500, STAT!
Beautiful firearm dogleg. Your a lucky man! One day, way down the road when my son is old enough, I hope to take him on a father/son safari to Africa. Got a few years yet though!
A few months back I was searching for a CZ or a Winchester in .375 and I called Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver...They didn't have what I was after but the fellow did mention they had a CZ 550 in .416 rigby that a guy bought from them, shot it a couple of times and then promptly traded it in for a .375 because of recoil problems. They may still have it, give them a shout at 1-877-225-4741.
Long Rifle,
I sent 'em an email, maybe I'll get lucky. You don't happen to remember if it was American or hogback stock?
Bashaw Sports has a CZ .375 if you're still looking for one.

I'm just looking through the Access and Dante (514-271-2057) has a Ruger 77 in .416 Rigby NIB. I know it's not quite what you're looking for, but it might be worth checking out.
Boomer,
The Ruger looks like a nice piece, but I'm sort of after the matched set. I'm hoping that there will be more cross-over with identical gunfit, same safeties, triggers and stuff like that.I am changing the CZ safety to a 3 position Gentry, so that still may be an option.

Boomer,
Come to think of it, the Ruger could make a lot of sense. By the time I switch the safety and do the manditory CZ bedding the prices are starting to merge. That and the Rugers have some real nice wood. My luck with the Rugers shooting hasn't been great though. Either way its something to think about.

Another option is to find an action and have a rifle built for you, but if you are going back next summer time is against you. I had a Ruger #1 in .416 Rigby which shot very well, but it took some tweaking to get it the way I wanted it. Not everyone would be happy with a single shot though. By the way, Accuracy Plus (705-740-0063) has a clearance of Woodleigh 410 gr .416 bullets - 4 boxes of Weldcores for $50.00 ea, and 2 boxes of solids for $80.00 ea.
Boomer,
Time might be too short for building a rifle, but I should be able to find one somewhere. If fact a member has just contacted me with a .416 CZ for sale. I'll respect his privacy, and identity.
The hunt I have tentatively booked is based on the camp being filled for a special rate. I'm committed, but this hunt may not happen. Be that as it may, I still want to get a buffalo gun up and running. The more practice that I can get the better. Push comes to shove I still have my .375, and wouldn't feel bad using it.
The Ruger #1s are classy, but not what I want for a DGR.
