I picked one of these puppies up.
She is the CZ-550 Americal Synthetic in 9.3X62 Mauser
I'm seriously pumped.

UPDATE: Received the rifle today
I am very pleased
Love the palm swell and the ballance.
Trigger adjusted very easily
Some minor issues which I will provide a full report on my blog.

In the meantime some pictures

Nice! I hope you didn't buy the one I am lolly-gagging about!

I think they have an HS Precision stock, which is not too shabby. I look forward to your report.

I've had a 550 medium lux in 9.3x62 for a number of years now and its certainly a keeper.
Reloader 15 has worked very well for me with speer, privi and nosler bullets for outstanding accuracy in a hunting rifle and flawless functioning. Be sure to take some time with the provided screw driver to set the regular and set triggers to just the way you want them , mine came with a bit of creep but was quickly rectified and now breaks like glass.

A gunsmith/dealer let me try his demo in 308 at the range. It went something like this: open box of 180gr Winchester Super X Silvertips; place 3 rounds in magazine; fire 3 shots into one inch at 100 yards.

I am so pissed. The BRNO-CZ value was the best thing going until everyone started figuring it out and the prices started going up and up.

The kevlar stock make sit that much more appropriate for a wet or harsh environment. Although the front (third) lug screw I found made the wood stocks very stable in any environment.

They are among the best rifles made. I dont think I ever had a poor shooting one.

RL15, BCL2, Varget - all work well with the 9.3x62 depending on your bullet weight.

Another vote for RL15. Works great in mine. I'm running 62gr with 286 Norma RNs. Something similar with Hornady 286 Interlocks shoud work nicely too. Nice thing about the 9.3 is that there are only so many bullets that you can try. 250 AB, 286 Npt, 250 & 286 TSX, 250 & 300 A-Frame, 286 Interlock and 270 Hot Cor. Woodleigh offers 8 different bulelts and some can be had through TradeEx. If you want to venture further afield you could get Rhino Bulets from RSA direct through the manufacturer.

Ken Waters and you both vouch for RL-15.
Sounds good to me!
No need re-creating the wheel here eh :)

All I need are some low mounting rings for my Leupy M8 4X.
Seems a struggle
Doesn't anyone run 33mm or less objectives anymore?

No lows that I know of. The medium Warnes (.425") on my BRNO Model 2 (also a dovetail ring mount) have my 40mm objective sitting .250" above the barrel.

Hey bro
I think I did
I haven't seen too many of these available yet.
They have one left but I think she is in .30-06.

Good score! I think NECG carries low mounts - EAW - for your rifle. A bit spendy, but I had oustanding luck with EAW mounts in the past. Even on a .416 RM which isn't exactly mild in the recoil department.

It really is a nice rifle - in my opinion it is one of the best factory rifles out there.

The Warne 30mm medium mounts work well for me.Mind you, my 550 is chambered in the puny .30-06 Springfield................but it is still my go to rifle, does the job every time, so long as I do my end.

i wonder when CZ started using polymer injection molded stocks, they just introduced a fairly decent kevlar re-inforced laid up stock, i beleive made by Bell and Carlson.

I also see that CZ has introduced a push-feed version of the 550. Odd move. The 550 is about the only production rifle left with the true Mauser extractor design.

I think it was made by HS Precision.
