Cz 58 experience in .223? Any reason i can’t find them new anymore?

Looks like its hard to find the cz58 in .223 /5.56 new, any reason?

Found a couple used ones seling for ab $1100 on #######, worth it?

I like the 10rd capability option. Other option is a new Mr1 for ab $1650 which seems like a great deal but ive heard they have terrible problems with magazines (especially 10rd ones but even their own)

My last choice is beretta cx4 storm 9mm for around $1200 new.

Reliabilty is preferred over accuracy (tho both would be nice) .

For tactical plinking, non-restricted and 10rd clips between these 3 (or others) any suggestions or experience? Thanks

If most of ur shooting will fall under 100m's, I think ull enjoy the CX4 the most!

My MR1 functions well with all the good quality mags I have. But I wouldnt suggest one unless u could pick it up for under 1500 bucks; new or used. Great hunting rifles, but not the best suited for tactical plinking.

I have no direct experience with a .223 CSA Vz58, but for what ive gathered, they seem to be the most likely to have parts fail. Ive had a 7.62x39 CSA VZ 58 for the last 4 yrs tho and it's been absolutely stellar! And unbelievably accurate with SST ammo.

Should also consider a 180C, SLR and MS.
 
I had two of them. One was the restricted one with a 12" barrel or so. The other was a non-restricted model. The muzzle blast from the small one was more than impressive. The 18.75" one was extremely accurate. Fantastic rifle. Not sure why they are not around any longer. They had a 1 in 7" barrel too so that you could shoot the heavies too. I'd buy another one.
 
Thanks for the info guys, still on the fence.. would get a cz58 if i could find one new, otherwise im leaning towards the cx4 but still undecided
 
I’ve not tried a cz58 in .223 so I can’t compare but the CX4 is great fun to shoot. The design makes it quite short for the barrel length so it’s quite handy. Mag compatibility with the Beretta 92 series is a definite plus, too.
 
Chps2, the CSA in 223 is solid, reliable and fairly accurate.
Certainly more than accurate enough for plinking and anything up to 300m with irons alone.
Just sticking to irons like a plinker or a truck gun it is also light.
There are accessories in stock options, grips, handguards, and brakes.
The original mags are very good.
Don't get too carried away by the needing ten rounds thing, the mags for ARs are actually their weakest point.
The CSA mags are good and reliable.
Save the money from the mag adapter and just buy a few more.

Only down side is probably for optics.
If your eyesight is really good and you want to pay, go for the side mounts and the ruski combat optics like the 1P78, 1P29, PO 3.5x21P.
If your eyesight is fair, you can do the side mounts and the more traditional optics like the PO 4x24.
There are rails available like from Magwedge where you can do more normal optics that westerners are used to or red dots.
Irons is still a winner with this.

It is a good buy.
 
Anything shooting a Beretta 92 mag can shoot a 40 cal mag and fit 2-3 more rounds of 9mm in. Food for thought if cap is your goal

Capacity isn’t too big of a deal but might as well take advantage of higher capacity when its possible.
A friends trying to convince me to get a ruger mini 14 instead of either of these, but 5 rd does kinda suck, and altho reliable, i hear they aren’t very accurate
