I like the look/feel of the CZ 600 Ergo and am thinking of picking one up in 30-06 for an all-purpose deer/elk/moose rifle. I was wondering if anyone here had used one for this purpose and what they thought.

The old aught-six is a great cartridge. Grew up shooting that as my only rifle. I also load quite a range for it, 110-220 grain bullets. For up close hunting, the old 220 grain round nose interlock is an absolutely devastating round.

For me, the sweet spot is the 180-200 grain loads. Mine absolutely loves the 200 grain accubonds, and with today's modern powders, it is basically on par with the quite a bit of the factory loaded 300 win mag rounds.

LOP on these 600's is 14.5", kinda ridiculous, you will need a scope with a long body and 4"+ eye relief, I have a Lux and I'm not real fond of it for that reason.
I hadn't noticed that. Thats a good point. I have pretty long arms and am by no means a small guy. Would you have any suggestions for determining an optimal LOP for me?

Go to a store and feel one out, Alpha, Lux, Ergo, whatever, all the same LOP.
Problem comes from the LOP and longgg action, that front base is way out there, scopes can only go so far back with the objective taper. I couldn't make a 3-9x40 Leopold with 4" eye relief work on my lux at all, ended up with a LPVO 1-6 as the only solution.
Plus I tried to sell it on consignment after 10 rounds through it, basically new, for $750, sat for 6 months with no interest lol.
