i have come across what seems to be a deal on a cz 712,,after a little research i found there was a problem with then self exploding,,now this thread was on another forum and was dated 2006 .does anyone have any info on this or has one and can offer any advise,, thanks for your input

There are 2 versions of the CZ 712. If memory serves...CZ began importing the 1st one in 2005. They had firing pin problems with them and CZ actually replaced them with aftermarket ones due to the OEM pins continuously breaking. It was discontinued it in late 2006. In late 2007 the 2nd version was introduced and it has been a fairly good gun for the average hunter/backyard shooter. I've never heard of one "self exploding" though. If it did happen, I'd say the cause was most likely from a double charged reload or a barrel obstruction and the owner/operator tried to blame the manufacturer rather than admit he phucked up!
