I got a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow a couple month back and love the gun, but every once and a while when the trigger is pulled slowly in DA it will hang up. It used to be not all that big a deal as it happened extremely rarely.

Then today my new competition hammer came in, got that installed without incident. Went to the range and had all kinds of problems with the DA pull. Seems to happen when I'm using my weak hand more than anything else.

I've heard that this is something that comes up with these guns every once and a while, and was hopping some one might be able to help me remedy the problem. The answer I'm not looking for is "Just send it to so and so, they can fix it." I plan on using this gun for the IDPA shoot this weekend in Olds.

My Shadow picked that up as well. It was rare at first but slowly got worse. When I did the trigger job to it I studied the gun and figured out that the trigger bow pushes the elbow that is attached to the hammer back. As the foot of the elbow rises on the ramp in the frame it breaks over the sharp lip at the back of the trigger bow. In my case I was able to lightly stone off a couple of thou from this lip and that did the trick. If you take off TOO much the hammer releases too soon and you may not get enough of a swing to let the hammer come up to speed before striking the firing pin.

As you open up the sear frame with the sear in it and study what's going on it'll become clear. The DA stuff all takes place UNDER that frame since the sear isn't actually involved. But the frame has to be there becuase the bow rubs against the polished parts on the underside of the frame.
 
I have the Shadow and done a trigger job (Polish) and changed to a Comp Hammer myself (DIY) so...

1 - If a trigger jobs was done be sure that the # 34 trigger bar spring is centered and #35 magazine catch spring screw is screwed down nice and snug, maybe a drop of blue loctite would be nice. #35 holds down #34 & #33. You'll know that #34 is not center and is twisted abit becuase the mag does not drop freely.

2 - Your Shadow's trigger, #5, should have a overtravel grub screw... back that out a half to full turn. If you like, place a drop of blue loctite on that as well to prevent it from turning on it's own. If this screw is too far in, even by a quarter turn, when you squeeze the trigger it will not disengage the sear especially when squeezing the trigger slowly. Or you can remove that grub screw all together, no harm just more overtravel. I prefer mine not to have any trigger overtravel.

Try #2 first, that screw gets loose and causes what you say. Mine was getting unscrewed resulting trigger going too far after the break. I did Loctite (blue) and that fixed it, never happened again.
