CZ 75/SP-01 magazines question

I need your help guys -- I want to find the 9mm (although I've heard that mecgar 9mm and .40S&W magazines work equally well for 9mm ammo in CZ) magazines for my Shadow which would not have this huge plastic heel on the bottom -- I want the regular thin plastic/metal plate which I'd be able to replace for something thicker/easier to grip, maybe with some rubber buffer so I don't worry so much about dropping them.

Do you know of any retailers which carry those in Canada? A few retailers I've checked out so far carry only "Canadian" 10 rounders with the plastic heel, I would prefer pinned "rest of the world" magazines.

Sean from Freedom Ventures hooked me up with Tanfoglio magazines, which have the metal bottom plate, and also base pads. Just replace the metal bottom part with the pretapped bottom metal part, and screw in the rubber base pads. It's like 2-3cm of rubber at the bottom now. I don't know what you mean by rest of the world magazines though.

Try out the Dlask CZ 75 mags. Should be what you're looking for and cheaper than factory by ~$15.

For those wanting rubber base pads source out the Beretta rubber base pads. They fit the CZ/Tanfoglio mags and are a lot less expensive. I have them on all my CZ/Tanfaglio mags. I believe I got mine from Brownells.

They're not rubber, they're plastic but they seem a lot more durable than the factory pads. The upside is that the magazine is metal for the full length, and only the baseplate is plastic.

MegGar 40 mags will not Hold 9mm rounds. I know because I have them. Yes Tanfo mags work, Nothing wrong with the shadow mags with the long plastic base pads. I have never seen one break yet and I shoot IPSC and IDPA. Same type of base pad on my Tactical Sport mags and have dropped them on concrete thousands of times and never broken one. You can add some material to the factory base pads if you want to.
