Hey Everyone!

I'm looking to buy a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Canadian Edition as my first handgun, just wondering if any of you out there have tried one as I would love to hear your thoughts about it. Pros & Cons........ Thanks!

Buy a regular sp-01 shadow $800.00 add Alluminum grips $90.00 and a 13lbs mainspring $5.00 and put the left over $400.00 in the ammo fund.

Exactly what many do.. but the gun is pretty.. I love mine even without the Grips, have the springs but don't see the need to change them yet.

When I looked for my first handgun, I tried lots of models on shooting range. I figured out Glocks and Beretta's are not for me, 1911s and M&Ps and Sigs are not bad, but I love CZs, Sig X-Five and H&K.
So, I got CZ (not Shadow) as my first handgun. I would like to recommend you the same - try different models and build your own preference list.

About Canadian Edition - I had to decide between regular Shadow and Canadian Edition, so... my wife and my son helped me in this - they said "we need with maple leaf!". :)

^^^.....which is not worth paying extra $600........you can do the trigger job and a comp hammer yourself......

with a little bit of effort I have 6lbs DA and just under 3lbs SA.......smooth like silk :)))))

i have both a regular shadow and a canadian, i can say with a bit of polishing i have the trigger on my factory shadow (with factory hammer) almost as good if not better then the canadian (for me at least)

where the canadian wins is the barrel/slide/frame fit. these are hand fit from the factory and it shows. the canadian is in my opinion put together with the same tolerances as my previously owned sti 9mm major open pistols (custom built ones)

accuracy wise the canadian is more accurate then a regular shadow. i would shoot ppc style competitions with this one. at 15m's u can put 10 rounds in the same hole.

compared to the regular shadow can range from 1"-2" depending on ammo. but in ipsc for example i have no issue with this since were shooting on the move anyways (if all goes to plan lol)

in my opinion both are excellent pistols. it all depends on how much you want to spend.
i have to say the maple leaf grips look awsome tho :)

thanks everyone for the helpful information, i must agree that the maple leaf grips do look awesome and will probably pay more for the cad edition being that it will be my first handgun :p as far as fitment goes... since I have small hands (being female) the cz 75 sp-01 shadow fits amazing for me!

The difference in $$$ is closer to $300 if you look around, plus you get spare springs and parts in a nice case. Although the Shadow has a nice trigger the Canadian Edition's is hard to beat.

I've had three regular shadows before getting the Canadian edition and I totally agree with the statement above.
