I purchased this pistol about two months ago for IPSC Production class.

Have shot two IPSC qualifiers with it and a couple of club matches with quite a bit of range time - all in all about 2500 rounds down range total in two months. Love the pistol. Very accurate and no stoppages at all.

I have done no work to the pistol other than general cleaning.

It just has one issue.

The Safety has now become a little loose in that it has a bit of play. It did not do this for the first 1000 rounds or so.

I don't use the safety as I start holstered with the hammer down with a round chambered - double action, but if I don't have firm thumb pressure on it while shooting (especially when shooting left handed) it sometimes moves up enough to prevent it from firing - about 1/8th of an inch, maybe a bit less. Not an issue when I shoot right handed as I am more used to shooting 1911's and always used the safety as a thumb rest to stabilize the pistol, but if I don't keep any thumb pressure on it shooting right handed it does the same thing.

Any thoughts on a fix?

I am thinking on just putting a film of RTV silicone (or perhaps a skim film of JB Weld) on the underside of the saftey and letting it dry and then re-installing it which I think will create a bit of friction between the safety and the frame to hold it down and in place, but would still allow it to be used.

I put the left and right hand safeties from my wife's CZ spo1 shadow in mine and it and it does the same thing, even switched between both ambi safeties. Hers does not have an issue.

I then swapped the sear cage and sear as well to see if that was the issue but it is not.

Comparing the two safeties I don't notice any visible difference.

When I engage the safety it is postive engagement and the safety detent plungers and springs are fine.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I am not prepared to ship the gun back as I heard turn around time is painfully slow.

spring broke on detent plunger?

is it both sides or just one side. if it's the right side moving, you need to tap it onto the shaft a little more, they can get loose there. If it's the entire thing (in other words both sides), how bad is it exactly? Some of mine have play, my new Shadowmates don't. One of mine moves when I pull the trigger, not much, but it moves.

Can't tell what's wrong with it, but 100% sure you should not do above...

If you can't figure out yourself, take it to a gunsmith... Don't band-aid a problem on your gun...

Thaks for the input and suggestions.

The spring on the saftey detent plunger is fine. Luckily I have my wifes CZ to compare it to.

The ambi is firmly attached to the saftey, no wiggling as between those two parts and both safeties are flush to the frame.

When I assemble it everything clicks into place the way it should.

I will strip the pistol again when I get back from the range today.

Thanks for the assistance.
