CZ 75 trigger

How can high primers cause light primer strikes. I am not calling you a liar but this just doesnt make any physical sense. Unless the firing pin was actually seating the primer but this seems hard to believe. Maby really hard primers, but just doesn't make sense.

As far as the single action trigger pull is concerned when do you actually use the single action pull anyhow. In comp you are gonna rack a round anyways, unless you are using a decocker you wouldnt need the DA trigger pull. I could understand if you are carrying but at the range or comp just wondering why?

You can get a light strike with a high primer. If the primer isn't fuly seated what happens is the firing pin hits the primer and seats it. This action takes the thrust of the primer and the firing pin fails to cause the primer to ignite. Primer usually goes off on the 2nd attempt. I have had it happen to me.

Hmm..how come mine drops the mags free than? Not complaining just wondering. :)

btw what is the weight of the stock mainspring and recoil spring of a 9mm model?

My 75B won't drop free after the slide lock open, the other time the mag is drop free. Yo may want to lock slide open and see the mag still can drop free.

High primers don't cause 'light strikes'. This is a common term but is improperly applied to high primer failures.

When the firing pin strikes the primer it must crush it against the bottom of the primer pocket to achieve ignition. With a high primer, because the primer is not in contact with the bottom of the pocket, the firing pin tends to simply seat the primer a little deeper without crushing and igniting the primer. Quite often a second hammer strike will fire the cartridge because the first attempt pushed the primer deeper into the pocket.

CZ75 and their variants are commonly used in IPSC Production and IDPA Stock Service Pistol. In both instances the first shot -in most stages- must be DA. All subsequent shots are SA.

I just got my CZ-75B back from trigger work and main spring swap.

Before: a little creep and pull was ok.

Now: almost zero creep, clean break and lighter in SA/DA

Smoother and lighter = Happy day.
