Ambi controls, what seems to be better rear sights; Why is the CZ 85 cheaper? The 75 seems to be the choice of competition shooters but the 85 seems to offer all the same, with a more servicable firing pin, as well as the other 2 items mention and is cheaper. What am I missing?

The main thing the 85 has over the 75 is ambi controls. Both can be had with or without the Firing Pin Block. (denoted as a "b" suffix)

As to the price difference, are you comparing apples to apples? There are a myriad of CZ 75 based pistols running from the basic pre-b 75 to Spo1, Tactical, Shadow, Shadow 75, etc.

The 85, AFAIK, only comes in FPB or no FPB.

Even though I shoot right most of the time, I have settled on the 85 as I feel it has a nicer balance than the railed shadow and I really like the sights.

Sorry FPB?

I know the 75 has a few more varients, is the 85 available in a railed version?

CZ85 Combat has adjustable sights, 3-dot night sights and improved trigger pull...plus the ambi controls...awesome gun...

oops forgot to add all the crap like firing pin block and the such do not exist on this gun...

There are models of 85 that do have FPB- 85b does.

They are not really night sights, just phosphorescent. Fade quickly in dark.

They are advertised as night sights....but you are right...still better than puttin a candle on your slide....

im right handed but own a 85 combat and the price is good the quality is great functions flawlessly like said above it is too bad that there is no rail on it and last time i check crimson trace does not do a laser sight that fits with the ambi controls
