Cz 75B guide rod flaking

I have a cz 75B .40 just noticed the chrome on the guide rod is flaking off, will this harm anything, has anyone else experienced the same? should I be upgrading to an aftermarket?

Your subject says 97B and your line says 75B. 97 is a .45 and a 75 available in either 9 or 40. Just keep it clean and lubed to avoid rust. Otherwise, scrape it clean and cold-bluing kit will do it. I do not see any harm in losing chrome except for rust.

A Google search mentions a CZ 75 & TS Stainless Steel FULL LENGTH Guide Rod available. Maybe a CGN Dealer or Brownells?

Wouldn't worry. Just cosmetic... Maybe sand it down if it starts giving you problems.
