Hi guys/ gals,

I bought my first handgun when Big Paulie made his announcement a few weeks ago and picked up a new CZ-75B. I finally had the chance to shoot it for the first time today..... very much fun I have to admit!! I had what I thought were two misfires though out of 130 rounds I fired today. Being a newbie to handguns, I waited for a while then cleared the chamber. Neither case showed any indication of a firing pin strike, and I realized that the hammer was only falling to the "half ####" position." This only happened twice today after 130 rounds.... I came home and cleaned my pistol, but now I notice that almost 50 % of the time when I dry fire it (with snap caps), the hammer will only fall to the half #### position. Any ideas of what might cause this?

Thanks
Scott

Try this.....

Remove the slide and check and look down in the receiver. There is a screw (the only one in the gun) and it may be lose. You will notice a wire that warps around under the screw and runs down either side inside the frame.I don't have my CZ anymore but on mine if that screw came lose, my gun would stop working in the same way as you described but it would fire or dry fire upside down however. I remove the screw...used lock tite and it never failed again. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the advise guys. I think I solved my problem.... I may not have lubricated / cleaned it properly after I first got it. After apply some oil around the safety mechanism, my problem has gone away.
