I actually happen to really like both the CZ-75b and the Sig P226.
Tough choice, but I'd probably go with the Sig first. Then later get the CZ :D

Sold my SP-01, great gun and reliable but I think it wasn't such a good fit for me. P226 is almost a perfect fit for my hand, so if some rich crank said "Here, free, take your pick", that's what I'd go with.

I really like both guns, but hands down the P226 is bar none the most accurate pistol I have ever shot, and I am not one sided, I do not have one and the Hi-Power is my favorite to shoot, but the P226 is just awsome.

I've shot both alot but ended up with the 226.
The CZ prolly fit my hands a wee bit better . .
however the 226 has a decocker and like Steve David
mentioned, awesome accuracy!!

I like the grip on the CZ better than the Sig. The bore axis on the P226 was to high for me and I did not like the muzzle flip. Ended up with a G17.

Neither. My opinion.

The CZ is a faily priced pistol with average to good accuracy. Making it into a super accurate shooter would exceed the price of the basic gun. It has a decent 1911 type lockup with a front barrel bushing, but most top shooters don't choose it.

The Sig is a highly overpriced and over-rated pistol with decent accuracy. It has the same type lockup as Glocks, M&P's, XD's etc: No front barrel bushing. It is a decent shooter but the slide is tall in the hand. Forget about after market parts, barrels, etc, somewhat like the CZ.

If you are not enamoured of the 9mm cartridge, forget the CZ and the Sig and buy a quality 1911 in 45acp. With a tight barre, slide, and bushing lockup, the accuracy is unbeatable. Colt's Gold Cup National Match pistol was the top of the heap for a reason.

Should you want a decent affordable pistol that has pretty good accuracy chambered in 9mm, you cannot beat the Glock17 or the S&W M&P.

Hatman1793,
There are some people out there like myself who don't particularly like the 1911. The ones I've tried didn't shoot very well for me. I also find the CZ-85 combat and Sig P226 more comfortable and shoot better in my hands.

The CZ-85 was a real surprise for me. I was never a huge fan before checking one out and shooting it. It's a nice pistol with good accuracy and a very nice trigger. The Sig though is the Mercedes.
