Military markings are VZ-82, civilian export version is called the CZ 83, and Czech civilian is CZ-82
CZ- 82 replaced the 7.62x25mm Tokarev VZ 52 pistol in Czech military service in 1983. It is a compact, double-action, semi-automatic pistol with a conventional blowback action. This type of action allows the barrel to remain solidly fixed to the frame.
The CZ- 82 was made in 9x18mm only while the CZ 83 is available in a variety of finishes and chamberings-- 32 ACP (aka 7.65mm Browning), .380 ACP and 9mm Makarov.
-- Does anyone have this pistol, and what is their personal opinion and experience with it?
I don't have 12.6 and would be interested in getting one in restricted version- meaning replacing original 3.8 inch barrel with one that is legal length in Canada.
-- Fact that this pistol comes with fixed barrel would make replacement more difficult and/or prohibitively expensive?
