I just installed the competition hammer available from CZ Custom into my CZ 85 Combat (yes I know it's 3:45 in the morning).
The gun works great in SA and DA, and manipulation of the slide, trigger, and hammer results in no abnormal behavior, and the trigger is FANTASTIC compared to the heavy creepy original. The safety no longer works however (as is 100% expected with the install from what I have read on various sites and forums and from what I've watched on YouTube).
My question is, bearing in mind that all pistols are different but at the same time similar, given that the pistol is working fine, is filing down the safety leg typically the only requirement to get a CZ 85 Combat working properly with the competition hammer, or am I going to find that the safety will simply not work properly until some further fitting has been done directly to the sear or other parts of the mechanism?
I was thinking of ordering a spare safety to grind on that one instead of the factory one, but it's a $30 part which seems a bit steep as a pre-emptive measure (but could easily become necessary as a curative measure
).
