if im not mistaken, the 58 is crome lined but the 858 isnt.

Cz 858 sure isn't. Is this a bad thing? I don't feel it is, I've had 0 problems with mine

Only the 858s built for Canada don't the ones in Czech do.
Oh BTW CZ-UB is not producing anymore 858s. Not sure about the 858 tactical 2 for Canada but no more being made for the domestic market.

There should be a Sticky about Chrome lines Barrels. Basicly, an un chromed barrel is only bad if you use crosive ammo and are too lazy to clean your rifle.

I'll let you know as soon as I know

right now in the domestic market CZ-H (hermex) and CZ-P (praga) are picking
up the slack with 3 barrel lengths of the CZH 2003

I assume that the long barrel version will also be non chromed.
