It has the 300m battle sight setting at one end so you can set it by feel. It allows you to make hits on man sized targets out to 300m.

If you don't have enough money for 25 rounds of 7.62 to sight in your rifle you should probably sell it and buy a .22.

x2

I will re-iterate my previous post, start at 25 or 50m, find where the rifle is shooting, make sure you are doing what you are supposed to on your end. Then stretch its legs out. if its all over the paper at 25 or 50, you'll know right away something is wrong.

You'll just frustrate yourself and others going to the range without spending the time and the money ($5) to properly sight-in your rifle. Theres nothing worse than being next to the guy who doesn't have his rifle properly sighted in (even if it just came from the factory) and proceeds to try to bang away at the 200 or 300m mark.

I have no trouble hitting clay pigeons at 100m with iron sights free handed.
I can consistently hit 7 out of 10 targets.
Gun is accurate just have to be zeroed in properly.

I found it was easyer to hit the paper fireing from hip then useing the sights thats why I sold mine.. I couldnt hit a paper sheet at 50 yards the factory sights were really bad.. It was shooting way to the right

The sights are'nt everyones cup of tea, but they are effective enough to consistantly hit targets. Not everyone is good with iron sights, thats why they make red dots and scopes.

If you can't hit a target with the CZ-858's iron sights out of the box, you really should put it back in the box and practice with a pellet gun <500 fps...

I used an 858 on my first 3 Gun event I participated in with irons.

It performed very well, beyond what I was expecting, but I only had the time to zero it at 50.

At it's zero'd range, it was pretty deadly around 2" pretty consistently firing offhand, not bench rested.

At 100, I could touch the targets and not worth mentioning, but that was just due to a lack of time spent zeroing on my part.

I found it robust, very acceptable accuracy, LIGHT, easy to maintain/strip, and quite reliable.

Do I think they are worth it? every penny.

Would I ever sell it? possible, but not if I can help it.

:agree:
Except for the part about selling it.

Crazy to sell it. I'm keeping mine. The thought does not cross my mind - especially since if I sold mine, I would have no idea as to do with all the ammo left over.

You sold a rifle because you couldn't be bothered to adjust the sights?

Im the kind of person that if it shoots to the right I just aim to the left.. I could of adjusted it ect but it really wasn't worth doing I didn't like shooting the crosive ammo extra cleaning and I didn't like the smell it made me fell sick since Im allergic to sulfer and thats what it smells like..

ps I bought an rfb I will shoot it tomorrow and see if I like it

Apart from this quote being EXTREMELY painful to read.... You're not much of a shooter if a firearm has to come perfectly customized to your needs right out of the box. Half the fun is tinkering with firearms to get them as accurate as you can.

As for corrosive ammo, you should be cleaning every firearm as thoroughly after every shoot so it shouldn't matter if the ammo is corrosive or not.

I hope you are strictly a hobbyist and that others aren't placed in a situation where they have to rely on your shooting.
