Just curious as to why cz 858-2 isnt chome lined?.. We all shoot the corrosive ammo.. It doesnt make it restriced..... If there was enough of us wanting chrome lined, why cant cz export them... there is a market and demand for it!

There is a chrome shortage. It's all been used up in Escalades and douch bags with 20" rims on their H2's.
But Seriously I think it's because the barrels are surplus and were made without chrome in the barrel.

I was under the impression, that these are new manufacture... Oh .. and H2's shouldnt have any chrome on them.. but that would be a whole other messageboard

So the 858 non resticted are surplus parts except the barrels? Makes sense since the orig mil issue are the vz 58's, so In a nut shell for us they put a new barrel on the 58 and called it a 858?

Best deal in this type of gun in this country. I think everyone ought to own at least one to Pi$$ off the lieberal gun grabber types in this country. If you have one, you ought to also take it hunting as it is perfectly legal to do so. The more people see hunters carrying these guns in the field, the more the public will become accustomed and perhaps comfortable with these guns being around.

Damn fine rifle.....period. Not sure why no chrome lined barrel though. Good question.

All the original milspec ones are chrome lined....Then some people wanted the barrels longer so the rifles wouldn't be classed as "restricteds"; These barrels had to be made new from scratch, most of which are non-chromed because it's more of a pain to make an after market chrome lined barrel than one without the lining.

If it was me, I'd go for the non-restricted with the chrome lining.

Just my own thoughts, but I believe chroming the non-restricted barrels would up production costs and ultimately consumer cost, making the non-restricted more expensive than the restricted. Leaving the choice up to the consumer for the same price is a nice touch, and with the price rauch charges for a complete refinish and chrome line, protecting it is an easy investment. Can you guys stop talking about these rifles until work picks up again? my debit card cries at night... :D
