CZ 858 Fab Defence mod help

I'm trying to install a Fab Defence upper handguard....how do you remove the wood funiture from the metal part with the alignment tabs and pin and install the Fab Defence piece?

Maybe I'm being too gentle, but that doesn't seem to be possible...Can anyone else that has done this mod offer some advice please...I don't want to break my new gun or the Fab upper handguard. It sure would be nice if Fab Defence included some instructions with their products.

IIRC it's a matter of bending the tabs out of the way on the metal portion of the factory guard, then twisting the metal section out with a screwdriver.

The screwdriver can pry between the tabs on the front end. You just grab the wooden section with your hand and twist...installation of the FAB is the same thing only backwards.
 
Yup what he said! I left the retention pin across and held it with a visegeip then after bending the tabs out of the way you just twist the cover off and twist the new one on! We should have a sticky for this as when I got mine I had to ask on here how to do it as well! Lol
