cz 858 fire select switch

my cz 858 has a three stage fire select switch two being safe switch the last being fire. My friends has only a two stage switch why the diff. layout?

Do you have the vz.58s 15" barrel or the cz858 with the 18.5" barrel?

I ask this because I'm going to guess that the 15" version has the selector switch that switches to full auto but acts as a safety because mine does this too.. Also the trigger group welds are different between the two models where welds are placed forward the reciever on the shorty and towards the rear on the long barrelled version possibly making the selector act differently.

My VZ58l, functions the same. 30 (full auto) position=safe, as well as idle position. single shot position(1)= fire

Do you have the VZ.58L or the cz858 ?

Yes, its possible there is a difference, but it looks like we confirmed that the vz58L has the same selecting capability as the vz.58s
